Are you a car workman in Europe working on US-import cars ? Here is a little box that makes it easier to make US-spec import cars road worthy for Europe!

The 12V Rear Lights Box splits the two US-spec car’s turn/brake lights signals into four EU-spec same signals. It takes two or three inputs (center brake light – optional). Powering is made through the input signals, no need to find / wire a permanent 12V in the boot.

The device saves work for also vehicles lacking a rear fog light.
Extend and repurpose 3rd brake light’s wire to power the rear fog light;
Power the 3rd brake light from the device left or right brake signal outputs. No more running wires from front to back, work only inside the boot! With a caveat – 3rd brake light can only be of the LED type due to device heat dissipation constraints.

Working voltage:

• 4.1V … 15.1V for brake lights
• 9.1V … 15.1V for turn lights

Engineered to withstand:

• ISO 7637-2-2011 pulses 1, 2a, 2b, 3a, 3b at severity level IV
• ISO 16750-2-2010 Load dump (unsuppressed, worst case), Short circuit (on the four load lines) and Reverse voltage

Body:

• Aluminum alloy ADC-10 (JIS)
• 102.5 x 52.5 x 25.5 mm

Currently incompatible with:

• PWM signals (do ask, probably doable on this hardware)
• more than 4 x 27W lamps – needs another more complex hardware
• thermal (bimetallic) flashers – needs another more complex hardware

Return policy

The price for only the device (shipping excluded, meaning only 90 EUR) will be reimbursed for any reason in the following circumstances:

• No more than 60 days from the date you have received the device have passed;
• I am not asked for any fees for the returned item – I will not be accepting such items, so please be careful;
• The device is still operational and physically not damaged.

Of course, you probably want the US to EU converter box working for your customers, so be sure to ask for help if need be. Please also be aware that this is not a plug & play device.
